We may not be responsible for the world that created our minds, but we can take responsibility for the mind with which we create our world
— Gabor Mate
  • I work with anyone who is looking for a laid-back perspective-changing conversation. I focus on strengthening self-esteem in decision making and finding clarity in emotions that feel uncomfortable. I am open to working with people aged 10 and up, adolescents and adults included. When I work with younger folk, I will work with the parents (with the client’s assent) to try to find ways to bridge miscommunications that may be leading to increased stress.

  • My style is mainly conversation based. It’s low-pressure and changes occur gradually as perspectives shift. I use evidence-based practices in this style, including:

    • EFT (Emotions-Focused Therapy)

    • Family systems therapy

    • DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)

    • ADHD-focused interventions

  • From 2016 to 2021, I worked at a shelter for homeless youth through a major mental health provider in West Grand Rapids. Since 2021, I’ve been in private practice, developing my skills in working with adults, adolescents and children find their confidence.

  • When I’m not in the therapy office, I am an avid videogame & disc golf player, and I enjoy spending time with my wife and our feisty dog, Vader.
